A Habitual Loneliness

The computer humming against my ankles

Soft pages against my wrist

Smooth ink tracing shadows of thoughts

Capturing a habitual loneliness

Screen blinding, the artificial light

Hypnotizing, leading my thoughts astray

Pushing them aside for recurring dreams

Enter my mind every day

Locked in a room the mind goes crazy

But locked by oneself, the mind is calm

To peaceful delight, the mind keeps drifting

Until the world makes no sound at all

Open your eyes to the tangible, sharp and piercing

Close your mind before it is lost

Let your feet guide you to where there is no despair

Open the door and wander back

Happier, to the people you love
